Rare April snowfall in the Carolinas, 2nd time since 1915

Rare snow fell over parts of the Carolinas including Charlotte, NC on April 2, 2019, making it only the second time in over 100 years that snow fell there during the month of April.
Snow came along the western edge of a rapidly deepening nor'easter moving up the East Coast and was seen over a small area of North Carolina and South Carolina.
"This was not a major snowstorm, but it was very unusual for the region for this time of year," AccuWeather's Brian Lada noted.
One of the bigger cities to see some snow accumulate was Charlotte, NC – the second time since 1915 that the city saw measurable April snowfall (the other occurrence was in 1982). The snow was even heavier in areas south and east of Charlotte from around 07:30 to 11:00 LT, local media reported.
First snow mixing in with rain was reported from Fort Lawn, SC around 06:45 LT.
By 08:45, viewers reported seeing snow in Cabarrus Chester, Lancaster and Union counties, including Marshville and Waxhaw, NBC Charlotte reported.
