Strong M 6.1 earthquake struck near Mindanao, Philippines
Strong earthquake measuring M 6.4 M 6.1 hit Mindanao, Philippines on November 02, 2012 at 18:17 UTC according to USGS. The epicenter was located 87 km (54 miles) ENE (65°) from Butuan, Mindanao, Philippines (9.259°N, 126.233°E) at depth of 38.1 km (23.7 miles). EMSC recorded M5.8 M6.0 at depth of 60 km (37.3 miles).
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) registered M 5.7 M 6.5 with epicenter 22 km N (58° E) of Tandag, Surigao del Sur.
Very weak shaking was reported, which is typical for earthquakes at this depth. At this time, there are no reports of damage or injuries.
