Very strong earthquake magnitude 6.3 struck south of Fiji island earlier today at 00:52:06 UTC. The epicenter was 543 km (337 miles) southeast of Ceva-i-Ra, 551 km (342 miles) southwest of Ndoi Island and 756 km (469 miles) south of Suva, Viti Levu, Fiji (24.959°S, 178.611°E). It was very deep earthquake with depth of 582.8 km (362.2 miles) and only a weak shaking was felt at the surface.

EMSC registered magnitude 6.4 at depth of 584 km (362.8 miles). GEOFON Postdam recorded 6.3 magnitude at depth of 571 km (354.8 miles).
