Winter Storm Warning and Freeze Watch in effect for parts of California and Nevada
A Winter Storm Warning and a Freeze Watch is in effect for parts of California and Nevada through early Wednesday, November 19, 2025.

A Winter Storm Warning is in effect through early Wednesday, November 19 for mountain areas above 1 829 m (6 000 feet) in California’s Eastern Sierra Slopes and parts of Nevada, with snowfall totals increasing across multiple ranges.
In California’s Eastern Sierra Slopes, expected snowfall ranges from 5–13 cm (2–5 inches) above 1 830 m (6 000 feet) and 18–30 cm (7–12 inches) above 2 740 m (9 000 feet). Similar totals are forecast for the White Mountains, where 5–13 cm (2–5 inches) are expected above 1 830 m (6 000 feet) and 18–30 cm (7–12 inches) above 2 740 m (9 000 feet).
In Nevada, expected accumulations at Lida Summit include 2.5–7.5 cm (1–3 inches) above 1 830 m (6 000 feet), 7.5–23 cm (3–9 inches) above 2 130 m (7 000 feet), and 23–38 cm (9–15 inches) above 2 440 m (8 000 feet).
The Spring Mountains are forecast to receive 13–25 cm (5–10 inches) above 2 130 m (7 000 feet), 25–41 cm (10–16 inches) above 2 440 m (8 000 feet), and 41–61 cm (16–24 inches) above 2 740 m (9 000 feet). The Sheep Range is also expecting 13–25 cm (5–10 inches) above 2 130 m (7 000 feet) and 25–41 cm (10–16 inches) above 2 740 m (9 000 feet).
The snow will create low visibility and hazardous travel conditions on mountain roads, including CA SR-168, NV SR-266, 156, and 157.
Meanwhile, with the first freeze of the season being expected, a Freeze Watch is in effect for Pahrump and Amargosa Valley, far southern Nye County, and far western Clark County through early Wednesday.
Temperatures are forecast to drop to -1.1–0°C (30–32°F).
The National Weather Service advised residents to turn off sprinklers, protect plants, and bring pets inside to protect them from the freezing temperatures.
