Yagi intensified into a super typhoon on September 4, 2024, becoming the second-most powerful storm in 2024. The system has since weakened but it remains a very dangerous typhoon as it continues its track toward south China and Vietnam where landfall is expected on September 6 and 7, respectively.
Typhoon “Gaemi” — known as Carina in the Philippines — made landfall in Taiwan’s east coast near Hualien City on July 24, 2024, with maximum 1-minute sustained winds of 205 km/h (125 mph) and gusts to 250 km/h (155 mph). This storm is considered one of the strongest to impact Taiwan in recent years. Gaemi is the fourth named storm and the second typhoon of the 2024 West Pacific typhoon season.
Mawar rapidly intensified into a super typhoon on May 23, 2023, as it continued moving toward Guam where a state of emergency has been declared. There is a possibility Mawar makes a direct hit to the island, resulting in significant damage. This will be the strongest storm to hit the island in 20 years.

Noru made landfall in Burdeos, Polillo Islands, Quezon Province at 09:30 UTC on September 25 (17:30 LT).
Nanmadol formed on September 13, 2022, as the 14th named storm of the 2022 Pacific typhoon season, strengthened to a typhoon on September 15, and reached super typhoon status on September 16. The system is still strengthening and is expected to reach Kyushu, Japan by September 18.
Typhoon “Hinnamnor” formed on August 28, 2022, and reached super typhoon strength by 12:00 UTC on August 30, making it the strongest tropical cyclone of the year. The system is currently located well east of Okinawa, Japan, and is heading W at 28 km/h (17 mph).
