The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) has issued a lahar advisory for Kanlaon Volcano on Negros Island, warning that heavy to intense rainfall from Severe Tropical Storm Tino (#TinoPH) may generate volcanic sediment flows on the volcano’s southern and western slopes while Alert Level 2 remains in effect.
Severe Tropical Storm Kalmaegi (locally named Tino) is rapidly intensifying over the Philippine Sea and is expected to reach typhoon strength prior to landfall in the central Philippines by November 3–4, 2025.

This earthquake is likely part of the ongoing aftershock sequence following the M7.4 event off eastern Mindanao on October 10, 2025, in which at least 9 people were killed and more than 900 were injured.
A strong and shallow earthquake registered by the USGS as M6.7 struck Mindanao, Philippines, at 11:12 UTC (19:12 LT) on October 10, 2025. The agency is reporting a depth of 61 km (38 miles). According to the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center (PTWC), there is no tsunami threat from this event. This event is considered a significant aftershock of the powerful M7.4 earthquake that hit the same region earlier the same day.

The agency is reporting a depth of 58.1 km (36 miles). EMSC is reporting M7.4 at a depth of 53 km (33 miles). According to the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center (PTWC), hazardous tsunami waves were initially possible within 300 km (186 miles) of the epicenter, but the threat has since passed.
Hours of heavy rainfall associated with the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) caused flash floods in Maasim, Sarangani Province, southern Mindanao, on October 6, 2025. At least one person was electrocuted and four others were injured as floodwaters forced the closure of sections of the national highway.
