A widely observed bright fireball streaked over the states of Washington, Montana, Idaho, Oregon, US and British Columbia, Canada at around 04:53 UTC on July 30, 2017 (21:53 PDT on July 29).
As of 14:39 UTC on August 4, there are 843 witness reports submitted to the International Meteor Organization and the American Meteor Association. 32 of them mention sound associated with the event while 125 mention fragmentation.

From the automatic analysis of the numerous reports, the approximate trajectory of the fireball was deducted. It thus seems the object traveled over the NWn part of Washington state, 50 km (31 miles) east of Seattle, with a SSE to NNE direction (azimuth ~ 332°).
