6.0 magnitude earthquake struck near Ndoi Island, Fiji
A 6.0 magnitude earthquake struck 43 km (26 miles) NNE of Ndoi Island, in the Fiji Islands according to USGS. The earthquake had a depth of 600 km and was too deep to generate tsunami waves. Seismic tension has been building along tectonic plate boundaries in the South Pacific since February of 2011.
