An EF0 tornado tracked approximately 4.3 km (2.7 miles) across part of Surry County, Virginia, from 16:41 to 16:46 EDT (20:41–20:46 UTC) on September 12, 2026, with estimated peak winds of 115 km/h (70 mph). National Weather Service (NWS) survey teams found tornado-related tree damage along VA-10 near Spring Grove.

A National Weather Service (NWS) survey confirmed an EF0 tornado near Spring Grove in Surry County, Virginia, from 16:41 to 16:46 EDT (20:41–20:46 UTC) on September 12, 2026. The tornado had estimated peak winds of 115 km/h (70 mph), followed a 4.3 km (2.7-mile) path, damaged trees along VA-10, and caused no injuries or fatalities.

The tornado began about 1.6 km (1 mile) east-southeast of Spring Grove and ended about 3.2 km (2 miles) east of Cabin Point. The tornado remained on the ground for approximately five minutes.

Survey employees found tree damage along VA-10 consistent with tornadic winds, while radar data indicated airborne debris at the site of rotation within the storm. NWS used the ground survey and radar evidence to confirm the tornado.

The public NWS survey did not list structural damage, a path width, utility outages, or a monetary damage estimate.

NWS Wakefield issued a Tornado Warning at 16:43 EDT (20:43 UTC) for northwestern Surry County, northeastern Prince George County and south-central Charles City County. At issuance, radar showed a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado near Cabin Point, or near Claremont, moving northwest at about 30 km/h (20 mph). The warning remained in effect until 17:15 EDT (21:15 UTC).

NWS classified the source at issuance as radar-indicated rotation and warned of a tornado and flying-debris hazard. The later damage survey established the EF0 rating and surveyed path.
