Early December winter storm to bring dangerous travel conditions across the Northeast and Appalachians, U.S.
An early December winter storm could drop over 15 cm (6 inches) of snow across the interior Northeast, including areas north and west of I-95, after it develops over the Gulf Coast on Monday, December 1, 2025. The heavy snow and possible icing will make travel dangerous across the affected regions.

Forecasts show an increasing probability of a winter storm developing along the Gulf Coast starting Monday, December 1.
The system is then expected to track through the Mid-Atlantic and the Northeast by Tuesday, December 2, after which it will exit through Canada. Over 15.5 cm (6 inches) of snow could fall across the interior Northeast through Tuesday.
There is over a 50% chance of heavy snow in areas north and west of the I-95. Some icing will also be possible across the southern and central Appalachians due to the storm.

While the timing and location of the storm’s impacts remain uncertain, heavy snow and ice will create hazardous travel conditions across the affected region through the early part of next week.
