Red Flag Warning issued for all of south Texas

A Red Flag Warning has been issued for all of South Texas from 09:00 to 10:00 CDT on October 30, 2025, due to critically low relative humidity and extremely dry fuels.

The warning covers La Salle, McMullen, Live Oak, Bee, Goliad, Victoria, Webb, Duval, Jim Wells, Kleberg, Nueces, San Patricio, Aransas, Refugio, and Calhoun counties, including coastal and island zones.

Meteorological conditions across the region are expected to include relative humidity as low as 10 %, northerly winds around 16 km/h (10 mph), and temperatures reaching 24°C (76°F). According to the National Weather Service (NWS), these conditions will create critical fire weather, particularly given the very dry vegetation and soil moisture deficits across South Texas.

Under these conditions, any fire ignition could spread rapidly. The NWS has urged residents to avoid outdoor burning and to exercise caution with equipment or any activity that might cause sparks.

No active large fires were reported overnight, but local emergency management agencies remain alert. The warning remains in effect until 22:00 CDT October 30.
