At least 17 people have been killed and 25 are still missing after a massive landslide hit the province of Cauca, southwestern Columbia early Sunday, April 21, 2019.
The event took place in a remote mountainous area in Rosas municipality after several days of heavy rain.
Colombia's disaster relief agency said a large part of the mountain broke off, burying at least 8 houses. At least 8 people have been killed but the death toll could rise- search and rescue operations continue as several people remain missing.
Local media reports mention at least 25 people still buried.
A massive pile of debris has also blocked a stretch of the Pan-American Highway.
