G2 - Moderate geomagnetic conditions were observed on May 6, 2018 in response to the influence of a negative polarity coronal hole high speed solar wind stream.
G1 - Minor geomagnetic storm conditions were first observed at 17:59 UTC on May 5, followed by G2 at 02:18 UTC on May 6.
"Northern Lights were visible in Minnesota while there was still light in the western sky, an hour after sunset," Thomas Spence wrote under the picture he took from his home in Tofte.
"We had nice flare-ups and displays through midnight into the morning. STEVE made a nice appearance on, too," Spence added.

Unsettled to G2 conditions are expected to continue through May 7. Quiet to active conditions are expected on May 8.
