32 waterspouts reported off Corfu, Greece
A major waterspout outbreak took place early Sunday, January 21, 2018 off the coast of Corfu, the second largest of the Ionian Islands, northwesternmost part of Greece.
According to photographer Giannis Gasteratos, who recorded and reported the event, at least 32 waterspouts formed between 07:45 and 09:20 UTC off the coast of Corfu and were witnessed by residents of Chalikounas, Ermones, Giannades, Glifada, Palaiokastritsa and Paramonas districts.
Some lasted a few seconds while others attracted attention for more than 30 minutes. 3 of them made landfall.
There are no reports of damage or injuries.
