An intense hailstorm and heaviest rains in 15 years hit the Biblián Canton in the province of Cañar, Ecuador on Tuesday afternoon, January 2, 2018.

The storm hit the city around 16:00 local time and lasted for more than one hour, causing severe traffic disruption.

The Fire Department and other organizations declared themselves on high alert to help the population, especially to uncover the sinkholes that were obstructed by the amount of hail that fell on the town.
