The epicenter was located 1 964 km (1 220 miles) WSW of Augusta (population 1 362) and 2 027 km (1 259 miles) WSW of Busselton (population 21 898), Australia.
There is no tsunami threat from this earthquake.
The USGS issued a Green alert for shaking-related fatalities and economic losses. There is a low likelihood of casualties and damage.
There are likely to be no affected structures in this region.
