Ice Storm Warning issued for Ohio ahead of powerful winter storm
Ice Storm Warnings have been issued for Lucas, Ottawa, and Wood counties in Ohio through Wednesday, February 12, 2025, as a powerful winter storm is expected to bring snow, sleet, and freezing rain across the state, creating hazardous travel conditions across Ohio and Pennsylvania.

An Ice Storm Warning has been issued for Lucas, Ottawa, and Wood counties in Ohio as a powerful winter storm is expected to bring snow, sleet, and freezing rain across the state.
The warning will be in effect from 13:00 local time (LT) on Wednesday, February 12 to 07:00 LT on Thursday, February 13.
A light mix of snow, sleet, and freezing rain is possible on Wednesday afternoon, with heavier precipitation expected in the evening, transitioning primarily to freezing rain.
The storm could cause power outages across the region and significant damage. Ice accumulation may make travel hazardous, affecting road conditions from Wednesday evening into Thursday morning.

Surfaces are expected to become icy quickly. Light winds will persist on Wednesday night, with westerly winds gusting up to 48 km/h (30 mph) on Thursday.
“Travel is strongly discouraged. If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency. Prepare for possible power outages,” the National Weather Service (NWS) said.
Winter Weather Advisories will remain in effect from 13:00 LT Wednesday to 07:00 LT for portions of northwestern Ohio. The advisory will remain in effect from 13:00 LT on Wednesday to 00:00 LT on Thursday for northwestern Pennsylvania.
