A large tornado was confirmed on the ground near Dodgeville, Wisconsin at approximately 12:28 CDT (17:28 UTC) on July 16, 2025, according to live video and trained spotter reports.

A large tornado was observed touching down near the city of Dodgeville in southwestern Wisconsin at around 12:28 CDT (17:28 UTC) on July 16.
The event was captured live on camera and confirmed by multiple trained spotters.
The tornado reportedly moved northeast at approximately 55 km/h (35 mph). It developed during a line of severe thunderstorms moving through Iowa County, with the National Weather Service (NWS) issuing a “Considerable Tornado Warning” at 12:27 CDT for areas southeast of Dodgeville.

According to Civic Media, observers in downtown Dodgeville reported a visible funnel and rotation on the ground.
Tornado Warnings were issued by the National Weather Service office in Milwaukee for multiple locations in Iowa County, Wisconsin. At 12:28 CDT, a warning was in effect for Dodgeville, Mineral Point, and Linden until 12:45 CDT, followed by a second warning for Barneveld, Arena, and Ridgeway lasting until 13:00 CDT.
At this time, no structural damage or injuries have been officially reported, and there is no survey confirmation yet from the NWS.
Dodgeville police and fire units were reportedly monitoring the storm’s path as it passed northeast of the city limits. The tornado’s exact path length, intensity rating, and damage remain unverified pending official survey.
