Bright meteor event over Ciudad Real, Spain
A bright meteor streaked through the night sky over Ciudad Real, Spain at 22:59 UTC July 6, 2019.
The meteor which was produced by a rock from an asteroid hit the atmosphere at about 54 000 km/h (33 554 mph). It started from the province of Ciudad Real in Spain at a height of 85 km (52.81 miles) and ended at a height of 25 km (15.53 miles).
The event was recorded in the framework of the SMART project, operated by the Southwestern Europe Meteor Network (SWEMN), from the meteor-observing stations located at La Hita (Toledo), La Sagra (Granada), and Sevilla.
