Four people were injured Friday evening, June 22, 2018, after an EF-2 tornado swept through parts of Cullman County in northern Alabama. It was one of those storms that drop out of a clear blue sky, Cullman County EMA director said.

According to Cullman County Emergency Management Agency (EMA), two adults, a 7-year-old and a 3-week-old infant were injured after a tornado touched down near Chapel and Vinemont and ripped through their mobile home around 19:00 CDT, June 22.

All of them were transported to a hospital and are expected to recover.

There are reports of downed power lines and other significant damage in the area, prompting officials to warn anyone thinking about going 'sightseeing' after the storm to stay inside.

Multiple locations of severe thunderstorms and locally intense excessive rain will be possible east of the Rockies, NWS said June 23.

The two main corridors appear to be the Central High Plains through Southern Plains into the South and the other path is from the Ohio Valley into Mid-Atlantic. Meanwhile, excessive heat and critical fire weather threats will build throughout the weekend in CA and the Southwest.
