China, which in recent years has been among the world's leading powers, is faced with a problem that is more characteristic of third world countries.

Power shortages have recently become so severe that factories across China are closing, and the problem is especially acute in industrial centers in the northeast of the country as winter approaches.

What exactly caused such a large-scale energy crisis that brought the Celestial Empire to the brink of an abyss, and can this have consequences for the rest of the world?

  1. China is a third world country. Mentally. They only came into the 20th century in the late to mid 70s and even then, they were still a communist controlled 3rd world country. They have made some advances over the last 30 years or so, but they are still being controlled by 3rd world communists. The scary part is that they have nukes.
