Magnitude 6.0 earthquake struck Salta, Argentina on June 2, 2012 according to USGS. Epicenter was 8 km (4 miles) SE of Yacuiba, Bolivia and 54 km (33 miles) NNE of Tartagal, Salta, Argentina (22.109°S, 63.625°W). Recorded depth was 519.6 km (322.9 miles). Earthquake was too deep to produce any damage. This is second earthquake to hit this region in 2012 but historical map since 1900 shows active region.
