Earthquake measuring magnitude 6.0 struck Northern East Pacific Rise on March 26, 2012 at 18:12 UTC. The epicenter was located 568 km (352 miles) E of Clipperton Island, 862 km (535 miles) SSW of Acapulco, Guerrero, Mexico, 864 km (536 miles) SSW of Zihuatanejo, Guerrero, Mexico and 1146 km (712 miles) SSW of Mexico City, D.F., Mexico(10.198°N, 104.030°W). The epicenter was at depth of 9.9 km (6.2 miles) by USGS. Earthquake-report says it is a harmless ridge earthquake in the Pacific Ocean at a very big distance (hundreds of km) from the nearest populated island.
