Deadly tornado strikes Washington County near Perryville, Kentucky, killing one
A powerful tornado hit Washington County, Kentucky, on May 30, 2025, killing at least one person and causing significant damage in the Long Run Road area east of Perryville.

A radar confirmed tornado struck near Perryville in Washington County, claiming at least one life, and causing widespread damage.
At least two homes were destroyed, and multiple injuries have been reported, according to local officials.
Tornado warnings were issued for parts of the region starting around 05:20 LT, with a tornado warning for Washington County issued at 06:47 LT.
According to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, the tornado touched down in the Long Run Road area, several miles east of the city of Springfield.
The Sheriff’s Office said the scene is active at the moment and is asking the public to allow first responders space to operate.
