A large tornado touched down in the suburbs of Xilinhot in northeastern China's Inner Mongolia on Wednesday afternoon, June 24, 2020.
Motorists have captured the nerve-wracking moment a twister struck the countryside, appearing to be approaching the nearby cars.
Footage released by the Chinese National Meteorological Center (NMC) on Weibo shows one motorist filming the tornado from a fair distance.
The storm formed at around 06:30 UTC (14:30 LT) near the New Vehicle Administration Station of the city.
No casualties or damage have been reported.
