A small asteroid designated 2018 GR11 flew past Earth at 0.69 LD or 0.00177 AU (~264 788 km / 164 531 miles) on April 7, 2018. This object was first observed on April 11 but the orbit solution was finalized on April 30.

2018 GR11 belongs to the Apollo group of asteroids and has an estimated diameter of about 5.3 to 12 m (17 to 39 feet). 

It flew past Earth at a speed (relative to the Earth) of 9.9 km/s at 07:52 UTC on April 7.

Since the start of the year, 31 known asteroids flew past Earth within 1 lunar distance and 6 during April, according to data provided by CNEOS on April 30.
