Gustnados sweep Qatar
Several intense tornado-like occurrences were reported in Qatar on November 23, 2016.
Numerous residents reported twisters in Doha, Al Khor, and Mesaieed. Although the sightings were at first considered as tornadoes, experts have explained the phenomena is actually named a gustnado.

A gustnado is a short term for the gust front of a tornado. It is relatively weak, in comparison with a tornado, and short-lived swirling of air, which can form on the leading edge of an intense thunderstorm.
Gustnados can cause substantial damage if they occur in populated areas.

Luckily, no injuries were reported on the occasion.
More rainstorms are expected in Qatar over the next two days.
