Magnitude 5.9 earthquake hit Kepulauan Sula region of Indonesia at 13:38:28 UTC 266 km (165 miles) SSW of Ternate and recently awaken Gamalama volcano in Molucca Sea, Indonesia, 311 km (193 miles) NW of Ambon, Moluccas, Indonesia and 792 km (492 miles) N of Dili, Timor-Leste (1.430°S, 126.516°E). The depth of epicenter was at 29.5 km (18.3 miles).
There were no reports of injuries and no tsunami alert issued.
