Magnitude 6.9 – Northeast of Taiwan

Strong 6.9 magnitude eathquake strike 215 km (133 miles) NW of Naha, Okinawa, Japan, 361 km (224 miles) NNE of Ishigaki-jima, Ryukyu Islands, Japan and 500 km (310 miles) ENE of Taipei, Taiwan (27.291°N, 125.868°E). The epicenter was at depth of 209.5 km (130.2 miles) according to USGS. EMSC recorded 6.8 magnitude at depth of 211 km.

There was no tsunami alert issued.
