A fast-moving windstorm swept across the northeastern United States on November 5 and 6, 2025, generating gusts of 65–115 km/h (40–70 mph). The storms left over 70 000 customers without power across New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Maryland.

The system developed as a quick-moving low-pressure disturbance tracking from the Great Lakes toward New England.

It was a clipper-style system that caused a sharp temperature drop as colder air displaced the warm air mass ahead of it. Pressure gradients intensified ahead of the cold front, triggering damaging gusts of over 97 km/h (60 mph) in multiple locations, with peaks near 113 km/h (70 mph) recorded on Long Island, New York.

The National Weather Service issued high wind warnings and advisories across wide sections of the Northeast, including coastal New York, New Jersey, and southern New England. The strong winds damaged trees and downed power lines across the affected regions.

Behind the departing system, a surge of colder, drier air brought temperatures below seasonal averages across New England and the Mid-Atlantic. Light snow was expected over elevated terrain in Vermont and northern New Hampshire.
