Two missing after severe flash floods in Italy’s Talanico

Heavy rains affecting parts of central Italy since August 26, 2024, caused flash floods and landslides in which two people went missing. Firefighters and security forces have been mobilized for search and rescue operations.
Flash floods and landslides triggered by heavy rains in southern Italy have left 2 people missing. The heavy rains affecting the northern and central parts of the country since August 26, also brought severe flooding in some southern provinces, including the Campania region.
According to authorities, the two individuals went missing in Talanico, San Felice a Cancello, following a landslide caused by the heavy rainfall. Local authorities have mobilized firefighters and security forces for search and rescue operations.
Videos on social media show the intense floods raging through streets submerging vehicles, shops, and homes and causing significant damage in its wake.
