A strong and shallow earthquake registered by the USGS as M6.0 hit the South Shetland Islands, Antarctica at 23:49 UTC on November 6, 2020. The agency is reporting a depth of 5.8 km (3.6 miles). EMSC is reporting M6.0 at a depth of 33 km (20 miles).
The epicenter was located 14 km (8.7 miles) SE of Bridgeman Islands and 1 014 km (629 miles) SE of Tolhuin, Argentina.
There are no people living within 100 km (62 miles).
