Deep M6.4 earthquake hits Northern Mariana Islands

A deep earthquake registered by the USGS as M6.4 hit the Northern Mariana Islands at 15:51 UTC on June 28, 2019. The agency is reporting a depth of 460 km (285 miles). EMSC is reporting M6.4 at a depth of 453 km (281 miles).

The epicenter was located 536 km (333 miles) NNW of Saipan and 559 km (347 miles) NNW of San Jose Village, Northern Mariana Islands.

There are no people living within 100 km (62 miles).

There is no tsunami threat from this earthquake.
