Dozens of homes damaged after tornado hits Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia

A damaging tornado hit the village of Liliba near the city of Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara Province, Indonesia around 13:00 local time Thursday, February 28, 2019.
"A number of houses and some other structures were damaged. Almost all of the roof of their houses were destroyed," one of the residents said. Other residents said dozens of homes have been damaged.
The twister was reportedly accompanied by heavy rain and the event lasted about 30 minutes.

The head of the Kupang City Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), Abraham Ade Manafe, confirmed the tornado, adding that he had had not received data on the number of damaged homes.
"At present, the officers are still carrying out data collection on the location," he said.
