Five people have been killed after a snow avalanche hit their car while returning from the Babusar top in Pakistan on May 30, 2018.

According to police reports, six men from Tableeghi Jamaat were traveling in a jeep to the Babusar top in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from Chilas when a snow slide hit their vehicle near the top, burying all of them.

A rescue team comprised of locals and Rescue 1122 recovered two bodies and one injured man before the nightfall when the rescue operation had been called off, Daily Pakistan reports.

The bodies of the two victims and the injured were shifted to the district headquarters hospital. Police said most of the victims were outsiders.

Over the next 24 hours, very hot and dry weather is expected in most parts of the country. However, light rain may still affect several places in Gilgit-Baltistan.
