Landslide destroys a village in China’s Yunnan Province

Heavy rains in China's Yunnan Province have triggered a large landslide in a village in Dayao Country on Thursday, September 22, 2016.
The slide has torn down the buildings of the village committee, a village clinic, a primary school and 44 other residences, according to the CCTV+. The road surface of a highway sank more than 8 m (26 feet) and the traffic has been blocked.
Thanks to timely evacuation, all the 158 villagers from the 44 families and 59 teachers and students from the primary school have been guided to safety and properly settled.
A medical team has arrived at the shelters for medical treatment and epidemic prevention. Construction workers are busy repairing damaged road at present.
