Tropical Cyclone 03S (Grant) at Top End, Australia

At 3:30 am CST a Tropical Low was located over the Top End near 13.2S 133.0E, about 125 nautical miles east southeast of Darwin with central pressure 997 hPa, moving slowly south southeast. The low is expected to turn towards the east and move across the Top End to the Gulf of Carpentaria over the next day or so, where it may redevelop into a Tropical Cyclone later in the week.

According to JTWC, Tropical Cyclone 03S (Grant) is located approximately 755nm West of Cairns and has tracked South-Southeastward at 04 knots over the past six hours. It is tracking along the SouthWest periphery of a near-equatorial ridge to the North-East. It is expected to reintensify as it emerges in the Gul of Carpentaria.
