A State of Disaster Emergency has been declared for the state of Colorado due to the rapidly growing Sharpe Fire that has scorched 11 400 ha (28 000 acres). Mandatory evacuations were issued for Campo and surrounding rural areas in southeastern Colorado after the Sharpe Fire crossed from Oklahoma under critical fire weather conditions on Sunday, May 17, 2026.
A wildfire ignited west of Boulder, Colorado, in Fourmile Canyon at around 17:50 local time (LT) on December 22, 2025, triggering evacuation orders for residents near Wild Turkey Trail. Firefighters contained the roughly 1.6 ha (4 acres) blaze before midnight, allowing officials to lift evacuation orders in the area.
The Turkey Track Fire has burned through 52 ha (128 acres) of forest near Highway 67 and Rainbow Falls, Colorado, since it ignited on April 12, 2025. The fire, believed to be human-caused, led to camper evacuations in the area but currently threatens no structures.
