Large early-season snowstorm brings 60 cm (2 feet) of new snow to the high Andes of Argentina and Chile
A large early-season snowstorm brought heavy snow to mountainous regions of Argentina and Chile on April 27, 2022.
According to images provided by ski resorts across the high Andes of Argentina and Chile, the snowstorm brought about 60 cm (2 feet) of new snow.1
Last week, a strong snowstorm hit the province of Neuquén, Argentina, stranding drivers and damaging homes.
Police were called in to assist a dozen stranded drivers and rescue people isolated in rural areas.
Strong winds in excess of 80 km/h (50 mph) brought by the new storm on April 27 forced the suspension of all classes in the province, the Provincial Council of Education of Neuquén reported.2
