Magnitude 5.3 earthquake struck southern Iran

Strong earthquake M5.3 struck Southern Iran at 01:57:13  UTC on September 6. The location of epicenter was 55km south of Gerash, in Fars province, near Persian Gulf coast (27.178°N, 54.015°E) at depth of 30 km according to EMSC. USGS recorded M5.1 at depth of 39.6 km. Local Iran Seismological Center recorded M5.3 at depth of 28 km.

There is no report of significant damage or injuries at the time of this report. We will update this info as the data become available.
