Violent storm spawns large tornado in Kuwait
A rare tornado hit northeastern Kuwait on November 11, 2022. The same weather system that caused the formation of this tornado brought heavy rain across the state and neighboring Iraq and Saudi Arabia.
The rains resulted in traffic jams and disruption on the main roads in various areas of the country.1
In addition, lightning and thunder killed 27 sheep in the desert of Rahia following rainfall on Friday, Al-Jarida daily reported.
The Meteorological sources have warned shepherds of the dangers of lightning and called on those concerned not to leave their flock in the open without protection during the rainy season.
Kuwait’s rainy season lasts from October to April.
