Thunderstorms in Oxford, England, caused lightning to strike a waste management facility on October 2, 2023, causing a massive explosion that rocked the city.
Local authorities confirmed the fire was caused by lightning striking a biogas chamber.
The blast was seen from quite a distance, with several explosions reportedly heard from over 30 km (18 miles) away.
No injuries were reported.
