• Starship explodes in spectacular fireball, causing air traffic delays

    The uncrewed SpaceX Starship exploded mid-flight on Thursday, March 6, 2025, after lifting off from the company’s Starbase facility in South Texas at 17:30 CST (23:30 UTC). The Super Heavy booster successfully executed a return and mid-air catch, but the Starship upper stage was lost in a spectacular explosion, causing temporary air traffic disruptions.

  • Meteorite falls in Beed village, Maharashtra, India

    Two dense rocks that fell from the sky in the remote village of Khalwat-Nimgaon, located in Beed’s Wadwani taluka, Maharashtra, at around 14:00 LT (08:30 UTC) on March 3, 2025, have been confirmed as meteorites by scientists from MGM APJ Abdul Kalam Astro and Space Science Centre.

The results provide valuable insights into how to create better planetary defense procedures based on the behavior of asteroid Dimorphos ejecta produced by NASA’s Double Asteroid Redirection Test (DART) mission.
