Lava dome growing at Sheveluch volcano, Russia

Lava dome at Sheveluch volcano, Russia continues growing, KVERT reported on January 2, 2023. The Aviation Color Code remains at Orange.
This process is accompanied by strong fumarolic activity, incandescence of the lava dome, explosions, and hot avalanches.
In addition, satellite data by KVERT showed a thermal anomaly over the volcano.
The image below, captured by Sentinel-2, shows the activity in high detail:

Ash explosions up to 10 – 15 km (32 800 – 49 200 feet) a.s.l. could occur at any time, KVERT said. Ongoing activity could affect international and low-flying aircraft.
