Heavy rainfall hit parts of Spain on September 23, 2022, causing severe flash floods and turning roads into raging rivers. The worst affected was Tarragona.
The Catalonia Meteorological Service said it recorded more than 100 mm (3.93 inches) of rain on September 23, while local rescue crews responded to more than 750 calls for help, including 460 for flooding.
Many cars were swept away, while in some cases, flood waters completely submerged them and entered homes.
