34-car pile-up accident after dust storm hits Dubai, UAE

A car accident involving 34 vehicles took place in Dubai, UAE on Monday, May 3, 2021. The dust storm is affecting most parts of the country. The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has issued a code yellow dust storm alert.
According to Dubai Police, the accident occurred due to poor visibility during a dust storm on the Emirates Road towards Sharjah, after the Al Qudra bridge.
The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is urging motorists to be extra careful as blowing wind, haze, and dust cause low visibility on the roads.
2 people were severely injured, another sustained moderate injury and one suffered minor injuries, according to Brigadier Saif Al Mazroui, director of traffic department at Dubai Police.
