At least 33 injured, 3 critically as destructive tornado hits Inner Mongolia, China
At least 33 people were injured and more than 100 dwellings were damaged or destroyed after a tornado struck a village in China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region on Sunday afternoon, August 9, 2020.
The severe storm struck around 07:30 UTC (15:30 LT) in Khukhdes Village of Sharmurun Town.
The initial assessment showed that at least five households of herdsmen and the Swan Lake tourist service center were badly hit.
More than 100 traditional round-shaped dwellings were partially or totally damaged.

China: On the evening of August 9, the Propaganda Department of the Damao Banner Committee of Baotou City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region released information. Rescue operations were immediately conducted. Authorities also established a task force consisting of health departments and public security in charge of relocating people.
At least 33 people sustained injuries, who were mostly tourists and staff members of the Swan Lake.
Three of them were critically hurt, but are now in a stable condition after being taken to the hospital.
