Severe hailstorm destroys cars, homes and 4 855 ha (12 000 acres) of crops in Baoding, China

A severe hailstorm lashed the city of Baoding in north China's Hebei Province on June 25, 2020, destroying up to 4 855 ha (12 000 acres) of crops and leaving more than 30 000 people affected.
According to the China Global Television Network (CGTN), the hailstones, about the size of eggs, were falling for nearly an hour.
Significant damage was reported to cars and houses, with more than 30 000 people affected by the storm.
Farmers suffered the worst of the storm as up to 4 855 hectares (12 000 acres) of crops were destroyed.
CGTN added that at least 53 people were injured.
