Massive sandstorm engulfs Golmud, Qinghai province, China
A ferocious sandstorm engulfed the city of Golmud in China' Qinghai province on July 25, 2018, causing zero visibility.
The sandstorm was accompanied by 75 km/h (46 mph) winds that brought down trees and caused traffic chaos.
The police was forced to use loudspeakers and emergency lights to remind road users to drive slowly.
There are no reports of injuries.
This city is located on the Tibetan Plateau, at an elevation of 2 809 meters (9 216 feet), and is subject to various weather extremes.
Over the past 7 days, local media report, this region was covered in a layer of thick slow and hit by very heavy rain.
