A significant ice storm impacted Somerset, Pennsylvania, on February 6, 2025, leaving roads coated in ice, stranding vehicles, and causing power outages.
Freezing rain accretions between 7 to 13 mm (0.30 to 0.50 inches) have made travel nearly impossible along the Pennsylvania Turnpike (I-76/I-70), with some trucks and vehicles becoming stranded.
The video captures the extent of the storm’s impact showing ice-laden trees and power lines sagging under the weight. Utility crews are actively working to clear fallen trees from power lines and restore electricity to affected areas.
